The Ganaraska Trail links the area from Port Hope to Midland and runs through Wasaga Beach and Creemore. The trail traverses a range of environments, from farmland to forest.
The Ganaraska Hiking Trails Association has a number of clubs, each associated with an area of the trail. These are: Pine Ridge, Peterborough, Oro-Medonte, Barrie, Mad River, Midland, Orillia and Wasaga Beach. A newsletter with the names of the club presidents is published 3 times a year.
In the Wasaga Beach Section of the trail, visitors can view 3 interpretive signs within the Blueberry Plains Provincial Park.
The Ganaraska Hiking Trail also has a Wilderness Section. This section can only be done with a guide appointed by the Ganaraska Hiking Trails Association. Hikers must be tested to ensure they are physically fit prior to attempting this route.
Access: Information on the trail can be obtained through the website at www.ganaraska-hiking-trail.ca or e-mail at admin@ganaraska-hiking-trail.ca .
